
No. 12 Women Pick Up Fifth Straight Win, Defeat Vanderbilt 75-63

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- No. 12 Texas A&M took control in the fourth quarter, defeating Vanderbilt 75-63 at Memorial Gym in a women's basketball game. A&M picked up its fifth straight win, and reached the 20+ win plateau for the 11th straight year.
Trailing 49-45 with 8:54 left to play, the Aggies (20-7, 10-4 SEC) rattled off a 16-0 run to take control of the game. By the time the run end, the Aggies led 61-49 with 3:22 to play. The Aggies outscored Vanderbilt (15-12, 4-10 SEC) 32-15 in the final frame, representing A&M's high points in a quarter.
The Commodores shot 58.3% in the first quarter, leading 16-10 after the first frame and 30-22 at halftime. A&M scored the first basket of the game, but then did not lead again until 7:13 left in the fourth quarter.
Texas A&M has now won 20+ games in 16 seasons all-time, including each of the last 11, marking the second-longest streak in the SEC. Gary Blair has 25 20+ win seasons to his name, which ranks 11th all-time.
The Aggies have matched a season-high with five straight wins, a run that includes two ranked wins and two road wins.
For the third straight game, Courtney Walker, Chelsea Jennings and Courtney Williams all scored in double figures. Walker led the way with 22 points, followed by Jennings' 20 and Williams' 10.
Jordan Jones had a season-high 11 assists, reaching double-figure assists for the 17th time in her career.
Texas A&M returns to action on Thursday, February 25 at Auburn, with tip set for 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network Plus. The Aggies return home for Senior Day on February 28 at 3 p.m. to host No. 16 Kentucky on ESPN.
