No. 4 Texas A&M falls to No. 12 Georgia in series finale

ATHENS, Ga. – No. 4 Texas A&M softball fell to No. 12 Georgia, 7-3, Saturday in the series finale at Jack Turner Stadium.
A&M (27-6, 2-4 SEC) garnered a 2-0 lead after the top of the first as freshman Kaitlyn Alderink singled to right and advanced to second on a wild pitch before sophomore Tori Vidales doubled to left center allowing Alderink to score. Junior April Ryan followed with a shot up the middle, plating Vidales.
Georgia scored four runs in the bottom of the frame as Alyssa DiCarlo hit a two-run homer after Sydni Emanuel scored on a wild pitch and Lacey Sumerlin hit a RBI double.
Freshman Keeli Milligan led off the fifth with a walk and stole her 38th base of the season before advancing to third on a throwing error by catcher Maeve McGuire. Alderink drove in Milligan with a single to right to cut the lead to 4-3.
The Bulldogs got three runs in the sixth off a Tina Iosefa home run to right field, bumping the lead up to four.
Freshman Samantha Show was saddled with the loss to move to 16-5 on the year.
The Aggies return to the Aggie Softball Complex April 1-3 for a three-game series against Arkansas. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and can be seen on SEC Network +, available through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
Saturday and Sunday's games can be seen on the SEC Network with Saturday's game scheduled for 5 p.m. and Sunday slated for 3:30 p.m.
