No. 16 Texas A&M travels to Sam Houston State for midweek doubleheader

COLLEGE STATION – No. 16 Texas A&M softball will travel to Sam Houston State for a doubleheader Wednesday at the Bearkat Softball Complex. Game one is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. with game two slated for a 7 p.m. start.
The Aggies (32-11, 6-9 SEC) are coming off a 14-1 victory in five innings over No. 4 Alabama on Saturday. The 14 runs were the most in a conference game for the Aggies since 2006 and the second-most runs Alabama has given up in program history.
At the top of the lineup, freshman Keeli Milligan is hitting .384 with her nation-leading 48 steals, which is tied for the most in school history. Sophomore Tori Vidales leads the team in home runs with 12 while driving in 44 runs. Sophomore Ashley Walters leads the SEC with 23 RBI in conference games and is second with a .478 batting average. Senior Cali Lanphear and sophomore Kristen Cuyos lead the Aggies with 45 RBI.
In the circle, freshman Samantha Show is 19-7 with a 3.45 ERA and 132 strikeouts. Show's 19 wins are the second most in the SEC. Sophomore Trinity Harrington is 6-3 with a 3.76 ERA and senior Katie Marks is 7-0 with a 3.31 ERA.
Sam Houston State is currently 15-27 (7-11 SLC) on the season and is led by Dani Allen, who is hitting a team-high .380. Breanna Homer paces the Bearkat offense with eight home runs and 33 RBI while hitting .357. Lindsey McLeod is 7-9 on the season with a 4.29 ERA and 88 strikeouts. Taylor Atkinson is 7-10 with a 5.08 ERA and 35 strikeouts.
