Aggies Close Regular Season Road Schedule at Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 10 Texas A&M men's tennis team closes out it's road SEC schedule in Knoxville against Tennessee (16-6, 5-3) Sunday at 12 p.m. inside Barksdale Stadium. The Aggies (22-7, 6-4) are jockeying for SEC Tournament seeding with No. 16 Arkansas (19-5, 7-3) and No. 20 Kentucky (17-6, 6-3) behind No. 7 Georgia (15-3, 9-0) and No. 14 Florida (12-6, 7-2).
The maroon and white return to action after dropping a highly contested 4-3 match against Kentucky Friday evening. The Aggies claimed the doubles points and singles wins from sophomores Arthur Rinderknech and AJ Catanzariti. Rinderknech picked up his team-best 10th victory over a ranked opponent, topping No. 25 William Bushamuka in straight sets. Catanzariti claimed a three-set victory over Enzo Wallert on court three.
The Aggies will feature a trio of ranked singles players against the Vols, led by No. 21 Rinderknech. The Paris, France native has been ranked in the top-25 all spring after turning in an impressive fall campaign. The right-hander leads A&M with a 23-11 record this season, including a team-high 10 wins over ranked players.
Vinsant moved to No. 44 in the latest ITA poll, the Keller native has an impressive 14-8 dual record, going 12-6 on court two and 2-1 on the top court. The senior is 6-4 in his last 10 matches and has eight wins over ranked opponents this year. Sophomore Jordi Arconada rounds out A&M's ranked contingent at No. 125. The Buenos Aires native is third on the squad in wins this season at 19, with a 12-9 ledger in dual matches and a 10-8 record on court three.
In doubles action, Rinderknech and Withrow lead the charge with a 12-5 record, going 8-5 on the top court and 4-0 on court two. The pair are an impressive 5-5 against ranked teams, pushing them into the Top-25 in this week's poll at No. 23. Rinderknech ranks No. 48 alongside Vinsant, despite the fact that the two have not featured since the calendar turned to 2016. Vinsant and senior Harrison Adams moved into the latest poll at No. 52, the pair are 2-1 against ranked pairs this spring. Arconada partners with junior Max Lunkin to rank No. 78 this week, the pair are 9-3 this season, including a 6-2 mark in duals and a 1-1 mark against ranked pairs.
Sophomore Luis Valero represents Tennessee in the singles rankings, at a career best No. 109 thanks to earning his first two top-50 wins in the last ranking period. He defeated then-No. 35 Wayne Montgomery of Georgia and also beat then-No. 26 William Bushamuka of Kentucky. Valero played No. 4 in the lineup last year for the Vols and has played at the No. 1 spot for most of the spring. Valero and junior Jack Schipanski are a career-high No. 15 in the latest doubles ranking, moving up from No. 26 in last month's poll.
