Four Aggies Earn All-SEC Honors

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies had four players garner All-SEC recognition in voting by the conference's coaches, the league announced Sunday afternoon.
The Maroon & White had two players earn All-SEC First Team distinction, including senior midfielder Mikaela Harvey and sophomore forward Ally Watt. Junior defender Kendall Ritchie was named All-SEC Second Team and midfielder Addie McCain was selected to the SEC All-Freshman squad.
Harvey, arguably the best player in the league, owned the midfield for the Aggies most of the season. She ended the season with nine points on three goals and three assists and tracked back to help the defense limited opponents to just 3.76 shots-on-goal per match. The Liberty Hill, Texas, native recorded seven points in SEC play with two goals and three assists. It marked Harvey's second SEC honor as she was also tabbed All-SEC First Team as a sophomore in 2015.
Watt led the Aggies with 16 points on a team-high seven goals and two assists. She stepped up her game in SEC play, notching 14 points on six goals and two assists. She tallied four game-winning goals on the season and earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week on one occasion. It marked Watt's second SEC honor as she was also named SEC All-Freshman in 2015.
Ritchie played in 13 games, including 10 starts. She registered one goal on the season, the game-winning goal in Texas A&M's 2-1 victory over Florida. The Aggies posted wins in all 10 of Ritchie's starts on the backline, including four shutouts. She helped the Maroon & White post a 0.69 goals-against average.
McCain played in 17 games as a rookie, including 12 starts. She posted five points on the season with one goal and three assists. She logged the game-winning goal in Texas A&M's 2-1 victory against Vanderbilt. The Aggies went 11-1 in her 12 starts in the midfield.
Texas A&M finished the regular-season with a 14-2-1 overall mark and the Maroon & White finished second in the SEC with a 9-1-0 mark. The Aggies wrapped up regular-season play with a 10-match win streak, including nine consecutive league victories.
The Aggies begin play at the SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Ala., Tuesday with a 12:05 p.m. contest against either No. 7 seed Alabama or No. 10 seed Missouri.
