No. 5 Texas A&M Set For Midweek Contest At Memphis

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 5 Texas A&M Softball begins a four-game road swing on Tuesday at Memphis at 5:30 p.m.

The Aggies (21-2, 2-1 SEC) are coming off a series win against Mississippi State to open conference play. Riley Sartain led the team with .556 (5-for-9) average and two runs scored, and Sarah Hudek and Tori Vidales each hit a home run. Lexi Smith threw a complete game in the rubber match and stuck out five in 11.2 innings of work. Smith gave up just two runs, both of them unearned. Trinity Harrington struck out six in five innings, giving up only two hits and a run.
On the year, Sartain leads the team with a .431 average. Kristen Cuyos has a team-high five home runs, while Ashley Walters leads the team with 18 RBI. The Aggies hold 1.20 team ERA, led by Samantha Show (8-1, 0.92 ERA) and Harrington (5-1, 0.85). Smith holds a 7-0 record and a 1.25 ERA.
Memphis enters the game with an 11-10 record on the year. Lindsay Crowdus leads Memphis in batting with a .455 average and is tied with Addison Maxwell with 11 RBI. In the circle, Molly Smith is 3-4 with a 2.10 ERA, while Katie Brignac is 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA.
Texas A&M and Memphis will meet for just the second time in history. The Aggies won the first meeting, 1-0, on March 6, 2011, in nine innings on a walk-off single by Megan May.
