No. 21 Women's Golf Finishes Second At Brickyard Collegiate

MACON, Ga.- The No. 21 Texas A&M women's golf team finished tied for second at the Brickyard Collegiate on Tuesday, marking the Aggies seventh Top 5 finish of the season. Four Aggies finished in the tournament's Top 25.
The Aggies, who shot an 883 (+19) finished four strokes behind tournament champion No. 9 Furman who shot a 15-over 879. Augusta tied with Texas A&M for second place. Texas A&M shot 296 (+8) on Tuesday.
Texas A&M has now finished first or second in four of their nine tournaments this season, and has finished sixth-or-better in eight of nine tournaments.
"I am proud on how we played this week, and put ourselves in contention to win a tournament," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "We had solid performances throughout our lineup, and now we need to clean up a few things before we head to the SEC Championship."
Maddie Szeryk, who led the Aggies on Tuesday with an even-par 72 on The Brickyard Golf Course, tied with teammate Thanya Pattamakijsakul with a 54-hole total of 218 (+2), good for sixth place. Szeryk has finished in the top 10 in seven of nine tournaments this season, while Pattamakijsakul posted her second Top 10 of the year, with a 1-over 73 on Tuesday.
Bianca Fabrizio finished 13th with a 221 (+5), and has finished in the Top 30 in all nine tournaments this season. She shot a two-over 74 in the final round of the Brickyard Collegiate. Chloe Velasco had a career-best 24th place finish, shooting a 10-over 226, closing the tournament with a 77 (+5) on the par 72 / 6,269 yard course.
Andrea Jonama rounded out the Aggie lineup with a 78 (+6), finishing 58th with a three-round score of 238 (+22).
The Aggies return to the course on April 21-23 for the SEC Championship in Hoover, Ala.
