No. 5 Texas A&M Dominates No. 4 Oklahoma State, 14-1, to Advance to NCEA Championship Semifinals

WACO, Texas – No. 5 Texas A&M Equestrian advanced to the NCEA Championship semifinals with a dominant 14-1 victory over No. 4 Oklahoma State, Friday, at the Extraco Events Center.
The Aggies (11-5) started off with a 3-0 victory in the meet's first event, Reining. Sophomore Haley Franc secured the first point, defeating Alexa Beaty, 139.5-0, and senior Sarah Kate Grider edged out Danielle Cohen 135-131.5. Junior Jaci Marley scored the last point with a 130-0 win over Hannah Mitchell.
Texas A&M gave up their lone point of the day in Equitation over Fences, winning 3-1, to take a commanding 6-1 lead at the break. Junior Rachael Hake beat Katie Jones, 168-148, before sophomore Rebekah Chenelle topped Hannah Janson, 171-157. Haley Webster concluded the first half by outscoring Carly Barrick, 170-161.
In Horsemanship, the Maroon and White extended their lead to 11-1 after sweeping the Western event for the fourth time this season. Sophomore Sarah Orsak's 150.5 bettered Maddie Bender's 129.5 to commence the sweep. Following suit, senior Kaci Fisher narrowly defeated Miranda Reed, 150-148.5, prior to junior Bailey Cook knocking off Kirsten Chamberland 143.5-125.5. Junior Avery Ellis wrapped up the event with her 142-136.5 victory over Libby Collins.
The Aggies finished the meet by sweeping their second event, Equitation on the Flat, 4-0. Junior Alex Desiderio downed Kendall Pedio, 174-149, along with senior Anna Rea edging out Carly Barrick 162-146. Junior Maddie Swem continued the Aggie sweep against Maggie Drysch, 151-116. Chenelle earned the final point for the Maroon and White with her second victory of the day over Jorden Davis, 174-143.
