
No. 4 Texas A&M Hosts No. 17 UL-Lafayette

COLLEGE STATION – The fourth-ranked Texas A&M Softball team hosts the No. 17 UL-Lafayette in the final midweek contest of the season Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex.
Texas A&M enters the midweek contest with a 37-4 (11-3 SEC) record. Riley Sartain leads the team with a .405 average and is second on the team in home runs at nine and RBI at 33. Tori Vidales paces the Aggies with 10 dingers and is third in RBI with 31. The Aggies hold a 1.21 team ERA, led by Samantha Show (14-2, 1.03 ERA) and Trinity Harrington (12-2, 1.20). Lexi Smith holds a 10-0 record and a 1.19 ERA.
The Aggies won their fifth conference series, taking the first two games at No. 24 Arkansas. Keeli Milligan hit .556 against the Razorbacks to lead Texas A&M. Sarah Hudek went 4-for-10 at the plate with a double while four Aggies each drove in two runs. Trinity Harrington and Samantha Show each recorded complete game victories for the Aggies.
UL-Lafayette is off to a 32-6 (14-1 SBC) start to the season and lead the nation in scoring at 8.41 runs per game. The Ragin' Cajuns are led by DJ Sanders, who holds a .391 average and has belted 23 home runs on the year. Haley Hayden has added eight dingers and 40 RBI. In the circle, Alyssa Denham is 13-2 with a 1.72 ERA and Alex Stewart is 15-3 with a 2.97 ERA.
Texas A&M and ULL have previously met 26 times with both teams winning 13 games. The two teams met last year in Lafayette in the NCAA Regional, in which UL-Lafayette won 9-8 in nine innings. In the last game in College Station, the Aggies defeated the Ragin' Cajuns, 1-0, in 2008.
