No. 3 Texas A&M’s Comeback Bid Falls Short at No. 9 TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – The third-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team dropped an 11-8 decision to No. 9 TCU Wednesday in a split meet.
The Horned Frogs (3-5) grabbed an early 6-3 lead in the Hunt Seat portion of the meet at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown, Texas. After winning the day's first event, Equitation on the Flat, 5-0, the Aggies won Equitation Over Fences, 3-1.
Alex Desiderio earned the first point for the Maroon & White (6-3) with an 84-83 victory over Carley Barnett and was named Most Outstanding Player. Rachael Hake followed with an 84-80 triumph against Raegan Rast, before Rhian Murphy defeated Patty Gill, 85-81, in a re-ride.
In the Justin Arena at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Texas A&M won Reining, 4-1. Kalee McCann opened the event with a 66.5-0 win against Josie Ferrante. Ashton Dunkel followed suit, topping Adrianna Adams, 71.5-70.5, prior to Madison Bohman's 69-67 win over Claire Dittrich. Courtney Yohey closed with a 67.5-65 victory against Tessa Lindberg.
Avery Ellis captured the lone point in Horsemanship, toppling Kassi Jones, 72-69.5.
The Aggies return home for an 11 a.m. matchup on Feb. 3 against Fresno State at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. Admission to the meet is free.
