No. 7 Aggies Face Tough Test at A&M Invite

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 7 Texas A&M softball team hosts three team that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago in Louisiana Tech, Texas State and Utah at the Aggie Softball Complex for the A&M Invite beginning Friday.
The tournament begins at 10 a.m. with Texas State and Utah, while Texas A&M opens against Louisiana Tech at 3 p.m.
Every Aggie game this weekend can be seen on SEC Network + with Matt Simon (play-by-play), Chelsea Reber (color; Fri. & Sun.) and Texas A&M All-American Gay McNutt (color; Sat. only) on the call. Authenticated subscribers can access the stream through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on their computers, mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs and other connected devices.

Texas A&M is off to a 14-2 start after sweeping Wednesday's doubleheader against Sam Houston State at home. Sarah Hudek tops the Aggies with a .488 average on the year, while Tori Vidales has five home runs and 26 RBI.
In the circle, Trinity Harrington and Samantha Show are 4-1, while Maddie MacGrandle holds a 3-0 record. Lexi Smith is 2-0 and Payton McBride is 1-0 to complete the pitching staff that holds a 1.50 season ERA.
The Aggies and Lady Techsters have met 61 times in series history with Texas A&M leading 37-24. Texas A&M has won the last six meetings with the last game coming on March 13, 2011.
Texas A&M owns a 19-5 advantage against Utah. The Aggies have won the last 10 meetings, including a 5-1 victory over the Utes in their last meeting on Feb. 6, 2015, in Los Angeles.
The Aggies hold a 64-10 record against the Bobcats. The two teams last met in the NCAA College Station Regional a year ago with the Aggies prevailing, 3-1.
Texas A&M head coach Jo Evans faces off against her alma mater, Utah, where she led the Utes to three World Series appearances as a player and coach. In 1982, Evans was an ASA All-American in Women's Class-A Nationals and earned High Country All-Conference honors. As a coach, she directed the Utes to the 1991 and 1994 World Series and was named the 1994 West Region Coach of the Year.
Due to the basketball game on Saturday, fans will be required to pay $5 to park in the Reed Arena parking lots.
