WHAT THEY SAID
Head Coach Jo Evans
On Tori Vidales in leadoff spot…
"She did a nice job especially in that at last bat where she goes up there and really drives the ball and gets that eighth run for us. I don't know if we will stay with it but right now we are just trying a few different things. I don't know if we will go into the weekend doing that or not. Keeli [Milligan] did a good job at her at bats tonight so we will kind of play it by ear."
On Kristen Cuyos' performance tonight…
"I think she just looked really comfortable tonight and her swing looked really good. She is locked in and driving the ball well. I thought this past weekend at Florida she was one of the few hitters that looked like she was aggressive at the plate. I am really pleased with Kristen and always happy for her to get a home run and play well. I just like her attitude right now and I think she is really locked in."
On overall performance today…
"Early on I thought we did such a great job to get some runs and that was my big message to our team; let's get in that first inning and make a statement about who we are as a ball club. I thought we did a good job at that and it was nice to see us again with two outs to get up there and drive the ball. I am happy with the way we played today, and I thought we came to play. I thought we did a nice job of not being distracted by the rain and weather. Huge shout out to our field crew who got this field ready to go and it was perfect playing condition. We are really lucky to have those guys and it was a nice night for us. We needed that."
