FAYETTEVILE, Ark. – The No. 11 Texas A&M women's tennis team completes their weekend road spring Sunday against Arkansas at the Billingsley Tennis Center at 1 p.m. (CT). The Aggies (17-3, 5-2) are looking to win their fourth straight match as they face off against the Razorbacks (8-0, 1-5) Sunday.
"Arkansas had a Top-10 win earlier in the season and has lost some very close 4-3 matches to a few of our conference foes, so we will need to be ready to go," Texas A&M women's tennis head coach Mark Weaver said. "The weather forecast makes it appear to be an indoor match so that always brings a different element to a road match and we will need to make some adjustments."
In their last three matches, the Aggies have defeated No. 4 Vanderbilt, then-No. 21 Kentucky and Missouri on the road. The Aggies were spurred to victory behind the impressive play from No. 50 Katya Townsend, for her efforts last week she was tabbed as the SEC Player of the Week after earning the highest ranked win by a freshman in program history.
A&M has posted an astonishing 83-19 singles record and 33-12 doubles mark in dual matches this spring. Following the match up against the Razorbacks, the Aggies return home for matchups against No. 6 South Carolina and Florida at the Mitchell Tennis Center next weekend.
