Texas A&M’s Lam Named to the SEC Men’s Tennis Community Service Team
Apr 15, 2019 | Men's Tennis
COLLEGE STATION – Kevin Lam, a senior on the No. 8 Texas A&M men's tennis team, was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team. In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the SEC once again highlighted a Community Service Team for men's tennis for the 2018-19 season.
All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003.
Lam served as the men's tennis representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for the past two years. Lam and the entire men's tennis team completed a service project with Habitat for Humanity in January of 2019. In the past he has worked alongside fellow Texas A&M student-athletes at the Bryan Food Bank, helping collect donations, organizing donations throughout the center, preparing lunch bags and distributing food to those in need.
Lam and the Aggie men's tennis team head to Gainesville for the SEC Tournament and await their opponent in the quarterfinals. A&M will take on the winner of No. 18 South Carolina and LSU on Friday, A&M has advanced to the semifinals in every SEC Tournament that they have participated in.
