BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 2 Texas A&M equestrian team opened the spring slate with a dominating 10-0 win over Dartmouth in a single discipline meet Saturday afternoon from the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
The sweep in Jumping Seat marked the fourth time in program history and the second this season that the Aggies have accomplished the feat.
"Very strong performance, I'm really happy with 10-0," said Jumping Seat coach Abby O'Mara. "We didn't give them any points, so that was exciting. Just really strong across the board. Flat looked great, fences looked great. No major mistakes, which is what we always hope for."
The Maroon & White moved to 6-0-1 in Flat after earning all five possible points in the event. Maggie Nealon, who improved to 4-0-3 on the year, garnered Most Outstanding Performer honors after matching the program record with a score of 96 on Zeus. The MOP honor was the senior's first of the year.
"I'm very happy for her but not really surprised because that's just what she does," said O'Mara on Nealon's performance. "She's very very strong. She was also going against their highest scorer, so I think she's really good under pressure and she wants it so badly."
Brooke Brombach (92) and Devon Thomas (91) each recorded 90-point rides for the Aggies, while Devan Thomas (80) and Rylee Shufelt (76) also earned points for A&M. For Brombach, the victory marked her fourth straight.
In Fences, the Aggies remained unbeaten (7-0) after receiving all five possible points. Brombach garnered her second MOP award of the season after recording an 87-point ride on Splendid to conclude the event. Ali Treuting improved to 5-0-1 on the year after picking up a 79-73 win over Rachel Freer.
Devon Thomas (84), Alexa Leong (83) and Kate Egan (82) also picked up wins for the Aggies on the afternoon.
