Aggies Drop SEC Tournament Match against Georgia, 1-0

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Texas A&M soccer team was unable to break the scoring seal in Sunday's SEC Tournament first round loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, 1-0, at Ashton Brosnaham Park.
The loss closed the books on the Aggies' 2024 campaign with an 8-9-2 record on the season.
Georgia scored the match's lone goal in the 19th minute when Nicole Vernis collected a clearance by the Aggie back line. She split two defenders with a through ball to find Dasia Torbert who beat the A&M keeper from the edge of the 18-yard box.
The Aggies did not lack for opportunities to score, but Georgia netminder Jordan Brown was able to punch multiple shots over the crossbar as part of her four-save shutout.
For the seventh time on the season, the Maroon & White found themselves on the wrong end of a decision despite outshooting an opponent. This time the Aggies owned a 14-12 advantage, including 7-6 in each half. Texas A&M was unable to reap the fruits of an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.
