No. 3 Aggies Wrap-Up Five-Game Homestand with Sam Houston

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 3 Texas A&M baseball team concludes its five-game homestand with a midweek contest against Sam Houston (11-5) Tuesday night at 6 p.m. from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Aggies are off to a 16-0 start for the fourth time in program history and one of two remaining undefeated teams in Division I.
Tuesday's midweek will be broadcast on SEC Network+ and can be heard locally on SportsRadio 1150 AM/93.7 The Zone. Fans can also follow along with the game on X, @AggieBaseball.
The Maroon & White and Bearkats will meet for the 136th time Tuesday night. Texas A&M holds a 90-43-2 edge all-time in the series, including a 53-17-1 mark at home.
The Aggies enter the week as a unanimous Top 5 team after making a jump in all five major polls. The Maroon & White rank as high as No. 3 in Perfect Game's Top 25 and moved up to No. 4 in the D1Baseball, USA Today and NCBWA polls. In Baseball America's Top 25, Texas A&M sits fifth.
The Maroon & White pitching staff continues to thrive in 2024, leading the nation in ERA (1.62), hits allowed per nine innings (5.76), shutouts (6), strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.02) and WHIP (0.93). Texas A&M also ranks fourth in walks allowed per nine (2.59) and fifth in strikeouts per nine (13.0).
The Aggies will send freshman right-hander Isaac Morton to the mound Tuesday night. The Blaine, Minnesota, native struck out seven over 2.1 scoreless frames in his first career start last Wednesday against Texas Southern.
On the offensive end, the Maroon & White sit third nationally in walks (136), sixth in on-base percentage (.470), 13th in runs (161), 18th in scoring (10.1) and 19th in home runs (29). Outfielders Braden Montgomery and Jace LaViolette have been one of the best duos in all of college baseball throughout the first 16 games, combining for 14 home runs and 53 RBI. The duo's 53 RBI are the most among a pair of teammates in the country.
Montgomery, who has driven in a run in eight consecutive games, currently leads the SEC and ranks third nationally in RBI with 30.
