Aggies Host Texas Southern for Tuesday Exhibition

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team hosts the Texas Southern Tigers for an exhibition match Tuesday evening at Ellis Field. First kick is slated for 8 p.m.
Admission is free for the evening's festivities.
Through two spring playing dates, the Aggies own a 4-0 mark, outscoring opponents 11-2 in 240 minutes of action. Texas A&M opened with wins against DBU (2-1) and Houston (3-0) prior to spring break. Last week, they claimed victories against Baylor (2-0) and UIW (4-1) in Waco.
The Maroon & White wrapped up the 30th winning season in 31 years of the program in 2023. The Aggies posted a 10-8-4 record, playing in their 28th NCAA Tournament in the last 29 years and advancing to the second round for the 24th time in the last 26 years – a mark eclipsed only by North Carolina.
Texas A&M returns 19 letterwinners from the 2023 campaign, including eight players who started at least 50 percent of last season's 22 matches. The returnees account for 34 of the Aggies' 45 goals from last season. Texas A&M welcomes back All-SEC performers Carolyn Calzada and Mia Pante. Other key returnees include former SEC All-Freshman performers Adysen Armenta, Quinn Cornog and Margo Matula.
Texas Southern takes the field lead by new head coach Kendall Ayers. Last season, the Tigers posted a 7-13-1 mark, including a 5-3-1 ledger in SWAC play.
Tuesday is the third of five spring playing dates for the Aggies. They host TCU Saturday, April 7 for an 2 p.m. bout. The Maroon & White wrap up the spring session in San Marcos with mini-matches against Texas State and A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday, April 13.
