No. 12 Texas A&M Hosts Ole Miss in Final Home SEC Series

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M softball team is set to host its final home SEC series of the 2024 season this weekend at Davis Diamond.
Game one of the three game set is Friday at 6 p.m., followed by Saturday's first pitch (now at 1 p.m.) and senior day on Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games can be streamed on the SECN+. Note: Saturday game time has changed due to weather.
NATIONAL OUTLOOK
Texas A&M is eighth in the RPI ranking and boasts a top 25 ranking in all four nationally recognized polls, including No. 7 in Softball America, No. 11 in the NFCA and D1 Softball polls and No. 12 in ESPN/USA Softball rankings. The Aggies are second in the the country with 19 top 50 RPI wins and have the nation's 16th toughest strength of schedule. Statistically, the Aggies rank top 20 in the nation in numerous categories, including No. 15 in shutouts (11) and No. 19 in ERA (2.28), while the offense is No. 17 in slugging percentage (.533) and on-base percentage (.415). Individually, Emiley Kennedy is third in the nation in complete games (17), fifth in shutouts (7), 17th in wins (17) and 21st in strikeouts (146). Jazmine Hill is No. 17 with a .537 on-base percentage.
TWO-OUT TERROR
The Aggies have terrorized opponents with two-outs leading the SEC with 120 RBI and ranking second with a two-out batting average of .332. Texas A&m has scored 46% (131-of-282) of their overall runs with two outs, while 56% (54-of-97 of the runs produced in SEC action have come when facing two-outs. Hill is a nightmare for opponents with runners in scoring position and two-outs registering a .524 batting average hitting 11-for-21 with 16 RBI. Most notably, the graduate is registering an unbelievable 1.505 OPS with runners in scoring position and two outs, including two home runs, two doubles and four walks. Allie Enright joins is in on the two-out mayhem batting .421 (16-of-38) with runners on-base, including a 1.383 OPS with five home runs and five doubles with 23 RBI.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Texas A&M (34-9, 12-6 SEC) is 18-5 all-time against Ole Miss (25-19, 3-12 SEC), including a 10-3 ledger at home. The Aggies have won five of the last six series against the Rebels since joining the SEC. The Maroon & White claimed the three-game set a season ago in Oxford after losing the series opener.

Nine seniors will be recognized postgame on Sunday, including Shaylee Ackerman, Trinity Cannon, Julia Cottrill, Jazmine Hill, Paige Lott, Sav Price, Brooke Vestal and Rylen Wiggins, as well as softball manager Everett Gay.

The 12th Man is regarded as one of the most dedicated fan bases in the nation. Texas A&M ranks No. 5 in the SEC and No. 10 in the nation this season averaging 1,783 fans a game and already had a showing of 2,331 on Feb. 24 which is the second largest crowd in Davis Diamond history.

Friday night features a pregame flyover that will be conducted by one T-1A Jayhawk from the 86th Flying Training Squadron based at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, as well as postgame fireworks. Saturday is highlighted with postgame autographs.
PARKING
Spectators planning to attend Saturday's softball game can park in lots 100a, 100b, 100c, 100d, 100e, 100f and 100g surrounding Reed Arena with a valid Texas A&M permit or by paying $10 cash or card. Parking for Friday and Sunday is free, but fans are highly encouraged to arrive early and have patience for the expected traffic and parking congestion around Reed Arena.
