
No. 1 Stoiana’s Stellar Season Ends in NCAA Semifinals

STILLWATER – Texas A&M's No. 1 Mary Stoiana's outstanding season came to an end in the NCAA semifinals as she fell to Miami's No. 10 Alexa Noel Friday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Despite a strong effort from Stoiana, she was bested by Miam's Noel, 6-3, 6-2 in the final four. She finishes her season with a 38-4 singles record.
The junior had a stellar year, leading the Maroon & White to their first ever NCAA Championship. Throughout the campaign, she racked up seven honors including SEC Player of the year, NCAA Tournament MVP, NCAA All-Tournament Team in singles and doubles, All-American in singles and doubles and finally All-SEC First Team.
