
No. 13 Aggies Set to Host Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 13 Texas A&M women's tennis team is set to face A&M-Corpus Christi in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday at the Mitchell Tennis Center with first serve set for 1 p.m.
The Maroon & White (22-7) open their NCAA Tournament campaign at home for the third-straight year, as they host A&M-Corpus Christi in the first round. Texas A&M's previous two campaigns have started at its home courts and led to a pair of Elite 8 appearances.
The Maroon & White have battled the Islanders (23-2) twice in program history and swept both matchups (4-0, 7-0). The Southland Conference Tournament Champions head into Aggieland with a 13-match win-streak and 5-2 record on the road.
A&M is led by the No. 1 singles player in the country and back-to-back SEC Player of the Year, Mary Stoiana. The Aggies also have a standout freshman in Lucciana Perez, who became the first player to be named SEC Freshman of the year in program history. The Maroon & White also garnered three First Team All-SEC selections in Stoiana, Nicole Khirin and Mia Kupres, while Perez earned a Second Team All-SEC honor.

General admission tickets to the first and second-round matches can be purchased in advance at 12thManFoundation.com or during business hours by calling the ticket office at 1-888-99-AGGIE or 979-845-2311. General admission also will be available for purchase on match days at the Mitchell Tennis Center beginning one hour before the first match of the day.
Students will be granted free admission with a valid Texas A&M student ID.
