Aggies Look to Keep Rolling Against Mississippi Valley State

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's basketball team wraps up a four-game homestand Tuesday as Mississippi Valley State comes to Reed Arena for a 7 p.m. tip.
The Maroon & White are coming off a record-setting shooting night to cruise past Manhattan, 109-68, Friday and go 2-0 on the week. Rubén Dominguez knocked down a program single-game best 10 3-pointers, shooting 71.4-percent from deep to register the Aggies' first 30-point game of the year. Marcus Hill add 19 points and Rylan Griffen chipped in 17 points and six assists. As a team, Texas A&M connected on a school-record 18 3-pointers and tallied 32 assists on 39 field goals.
Dominguez ranks 10th nationally with 23 3-pointers on the year and his 3.8 3's per game are good for 14th. As a team, the Aggies ranks 26th in the country averaging 11.0 3's per game and 11th with 20.8 assists per outing.
The Aggies have been solid on defense, ranking second in the SEC forcing 15.7 turnovers per game while also sitting in the top five in the league in steals (8.3/g) and turnover margin (+4.3). Texas A&M has also taken advantage of its opponents' miscues, scoring at least 19 points off turnovers in five of the team's six games.
The Aggies have showcased their depth, seeing a boost from the bench as they rank sixth nationally and second in the SEC with 43.8 points coming from the bench so far this year. Texas A&M has held the advantage in bench points in every game this season, contributing at least 30 points in each outing. Against Manhattan the Aggies saw 41 points come from non-starters.
Tuesday marks the fourth all-time meeting between the Aggies and Delta Devils. Texas A&M is 3-0 in the series with two of those victories coming in College Station. The two teams most recently matched up in 2013 when the Aggies claimed a 91-67 victory in A&M's second game of the season.
