Men’s Basketball Rolls Past Mississippi Valley State, 120-84

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's basketball team notched its highest point total in Reed Arena history as the Aggies took down Mississippi Valley State, 120-84, to wrap up a four-game homestand Tuesday night.
The Aggies (5-2) got out to a strong start using an 11-0 run to distance themselves early. Three straight baskets by the Delta Devils (1-7) got them back within single digits, but a pair of dunks from Jamie Vinson would bookend a 12-0 run for the Maroon & White to put them up 37-16 with 7:21 to play.
Texas A&M led by as much as 24 in the opening period and took a 52-35 lead into the break behind a 13-point opening half from Mackenzie Mgbako. The Aggies forced 18 turnovers in the first half, scoring 26 points off the Delta Devils' miscues.
The Maroon & White quickly got the lead back to 20 points before the first media timeout in the second half and continued to push, eventually distancing themselves by 42 in the closing minutes.
Mgbako finished the night with 19 points to lead the Aggies in his first significant minutes of the season, while Zach Clemence and Rubén Dominguez chipped in 15 apiece. Vinson had a career night as he paced the Maroon & White with six rebounds, adding 12 points.
The Aggies forced 31 turnovers on the night, scoring 46 points off the Mississippi Valley State mistakes. The bench stepped up big in the victory, as Texas A&M saw 66 points come from non-starters.

The Aggies return to action Friday, Nov. 28, facing off against Florida State in Tampa for the Battle in the Bay. Tip is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN2.

- Led the Aggies in assists for the second straight game with five.
- Registered his second five-plus assist game of the season and the 37th of this career.
