Six Aggies Earn Academic All-District Spots

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Texas A&M Aggies landed six players on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Women's Soccer Division I Academic All-District Team announced Tuesday.
Trinity Buchanan, Kat Campbell, Kennedy Clark, Bella James, Hattie Patterson and Bella Yakel were named to the Academic All-District Squad. Yakel earned the recognition for the third time while the other five were first-timers.
Buchanan, the Aggies' Offensive MVP, led the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists. She provided late-match heroics, including three clutch goals for Texas A&M, including a 68th minute goal in a 1-0 victory over Texas. Buchanan owns a 3.875 GPA majoring in communication.
Campbell, Texas A&M's Midfield MVP, was a stalwart as one of the squad's holding mids. She started all 17 matches. Defensively, she helped the Maroon & White register five shutouts. Offensively she provided an assist against Lafayette. Campbell has crafted a 3.760 GPA majoring in business administration.
Clark also claimed the Aggies' coveted Lafield Academic Excellence Award. She played in 14 matches with nine starts, recording one assist on the year. Clark boasts a 4.00 GPA majoring in biomedical sciences.
James appeared in all 17 matches, including eight starts, as a holding mid. She helped the Aggies post a 1.18 goals against average. James sports a 3.685 GPA majoring in public health.
Patterson started all 17 matches on the backline, ranking third on the squad with 1,436 minutes. She helped the defense hold opponents to one goal or less in 13 matches. Offensively, she provided a pair of assists. Patterson boasts a 4.00 GPA majoring in accounting.
Yakel, the Aggies' Defensive MVP, never left the pitch, playing 1,530 minutes. The Maroon & White registered three SEC shutouts with the Long Beach, California, native marshaling the backline. She tacked on three points with one goal and one assist. She scored the winning goal in a 2-1 win against Missouri. Yakel owns a 3.833 GPA majoring in business.
Formerly the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), College Sports Communicators overhauled the criteria for Academic All-America for the second time in two years. While the minimum cumulative GPA remained at 3.50, players must now either participate in 90% of their teams' games or start half of their teams' games. For the fourth consecutive year, College Sports Communicators capped the number of players each school was permitted to nominate, setting the limit at six. In 2021, the Maroon & White dominated the 13-player all-district team with a school-record seven Aggies earning the distinction.
Since the program's inception in 1952, College Sports Communicators has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 23,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA covering all NCAA championship sports.
