Men’s Basketball Hosts East Texas A&M for Fan Appreciation Game

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's basketball team remains at home to host East Texas A&M as part of a Fan Appreciation doubleheader with the women's basketball team Sunday afternoon.
The last time out, the Aggies shot a season-best 59.2-percent from the field, knocking down 42 field goals to take down Jacksonville, 112-75, and notch their fourth 100-point game of the season. Rylan Griffen led six players in double figures with a season-high 19 points, going 5-for-6 from 3-point range. Jamie Vinson added a career-best 14 points, going 6-for-6 from the field in the victory.
The Maroon & White have seen a big lift from their bench, averaging 42.9 points per game which ranks third in the nation and leads the SEC. The Aggies have had at least 25 points come from non-starters in 10 of the team's 11 games this season. Texas A&M also ranks No. 7 in the country making 21.3 free throws and No. 9 in scoring offense with 92.9 points per game on the year.
The Aggies have dished out at least 20 assists in six of their last seven games to help them rank fourth nationally and lead the SEC averaging 21.3 assists per game. Jacari Lane has been leading the way in the category tallying 40 assists while only committing 10 turnovers on the year.
The Aggies hold a 5-1 record all-time against East Texas A&M. The two teams have met in each of the last two seasons as the Maroon & White most recently earned an 87-55 victory over the Lions at Reed Arena a year ago.
