MEET PREVIEW: J. Fred Duckett Twilight

HOUSTON – The Texas A&M track & field team doubles down this weekend, as another section of the squad heads on the road to compete at the 21st annual J. Fred Duckett Twilight meet at Rice University on April 26, with events beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wendel D. Ley Track & Holloway Field.
The Aggies continue their outdoor campaign in state, as they send 42 athletes to compete against 21 teams at the home of the Owls. The women will compete in 14 events, while the men will take on 11.
The Field
The Aggies are set to compete against a large field, including Rice, Blinn College, Dallas Baptist, East Texas A&M, Emporia State, Hill College, Houston, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Jacksonville College, Lamar, McNeese State, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Our Lady of the Lake, Stephen F. Austin, TAMU-Kingsville, Texas Southern, UTRGV, UT-Tyler and Victoria College.
Top-Ranked Aggies
The Maroon & White claim five of the country's top-five spots on the women's side, with Sofia Yakushina's outstanding performance leading to a No. 1 ranking in the heptathlon (6,260). Camryn Dickson claimed two spots in the 100m (11.06) and 200m (22.48), Jaiya Covington also logged a ranking in the 100m hurdles (12.77) and Winny Bii in the triple jump (13.74m/45-1).
The Aggie men hold six top-five marks in the country, including Auhmad Robinson in the 200m (20.21) and 400m (44.61), Ja'Qualon Scott in the 110m hurdles (13.30) and 400m hurdles (49.37), the 4x400m relay team (3:02.15) and Aleksandr Solovev in the pole vault (5.56m/18-2.75).
