No. 2 Aggies Host Mississippi State

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team hosts Mississippi State Friday at the Mitchell Tennis Center at 10 a.m.
The Maroon & White are 19-2 and 10-1 in SEC action and are looking for their 66th-straight victory at home.
The Aggies are led by back-to-back SEC Player of the Year, Mary Stoiana, who rates as the No. 2 singles player in the nation. The senior picked up her third SEC Player of the Week honor this week after her performance in wins over Kentucky (4-0) and No. 7 Tennessee (4-1) last weekend. Stoiana boasts 16 career weekly honors from the SEC, including four freshman of the week awards from her rookie campaign.
No. 11 Nicole Khirin, who garnered All-American status this fall, is second on the team in ranked wins, holding an 11-4 record in ranked matchups. The junior leads the team in total victories, posting a 26-5 season record.
No. 57 Mia Kupres is 18-5 this season and 7-2 in SEC play. The junior owns four ranked victories, which is the third most on the team.
The reigning SEC Freshman of the Year, No. 46 Lucciana Perez, has won 11 consecutive matches and is undefeated in SEC play (10-0). The sophomore owns a 19-3 season record with two ranked wins.
No. 88 Daria Smetannikov and Lexington Reed round out the lineup for the Maroon & White. Smetannikov is second on the team in total wins with 25. Reed earned the second SEC weekly honor of her career, as she pushed her record to 22-6 and 7-1 in conference action to claim SEC Freshman of the Week.
The Aggies hold a 13-1 all-time record versus Mississippi State (10-11, 0-11 SEC). The Bulldogs feature one ranked doubles squad in No. 71 Athina Pitta/Gianna Oboniye.
