Aggie Soccer Continues to Achieve Excellence in the Classroom
May 29, 2025 | Soccer
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team maintained its classroom excellence as exhibited by recent academic numbers. The Aggies posted a 3.504 team GPA for the spring, lifting their cumulative team GPA to 3.404.
The success was across the board with 28 Aggies earning a spot on the AD Honor Roll with GPAs of 3.0 and above for the semester, including freshmen, and 21 landing on the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll, for athletes with at least 24 semester hours and either a 3.00 cumulative GPA or a 3.00 GPA over the preceding academic year.
"I'm so proud of the high academic standards that our young women continually hold themselves up to in the Texas A&M soccer program," head coach G Guerrieri said. "These high standards were established decades ago, and this generation of Aggies continues to build upon that legacy. They come here to be exemplary student soccer players."
The Aggies also sparkled in the NCAA metrics. Ol' Sarge's charges earned a 1000 Single-Year Academic Progress Rate for 2024-25.
Texas A&M's GPA was buoyed by 14 4.0s in the spring semester, including active players Trinity Buchanan, Kennedy Clark, Sydney Fuller, Ella Goodwin, Emma Hoang, Bella James and Hattie Patterson. In addition, Kat Campbell, Clark, Fuller, Lucy Landherr and Isabell Yakel landed on the Dean's Honor Roll and Leah Diaz earned Distinguished Student recognition.
The Aggies had six players earn College Sports Communicators Division I Academic All-District Team spots, including Macy Matula, Taylor Pounds and Jazmine Wilkinson.
"Texas A&M is one of America's most challenging and prestigious universities," Guerrieri said. "To see the daily commitment to academic excellence that our soccer players invest into their studies and then see the high marks at the end of each term is no surprise, but it is truly fulfilling to me, our coaches and our soccer support staff."
