Women’s Basketball Falls to No. 8 Oklahoma, 72-50

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's basketball team fell to No. 8 Oklahoma, 72-50, Thursday night inside Reed Arena.
The Aggies were led by Fatmata Janneh who registered her fourth double-double in-a-row with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ny'Ceara Pryor also stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, six assists and four steals.
The Aggies forced Oklahoma into nine turnovers in the first quarter but were only able to convert those miscues into three points. The score was knotted up at 7-7 with 4:15 left in the period when the Sooners went on a 6-2 run to end the quarter 15-9 in favor of OU.
Oklahoma slowly pushed its lead to 13, 26-13, with 3:55 left in the half. However, the Aggies chopped into that with a 7-0 run before the Sooners scored on the final possession of the half to make the score 28-20 after 20 minutes.
OU would take control in the second half, jumping out to a 24-point lead after three quarters. The Aggies failed to get back within striking range in the fourth, falling by a score of 72-50.
Texas A&M hits the road to play at Georgia Sunday at 1 p.m. for its first road test of SEC play.
