ATHENS – The Texas A&M women's basketball team fell to Georgia, 64-56, in overtime at Stegeman Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

Fatmata Janneh led the team with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Ny'Ceara Pryor pitched in 12 points, seven assists, five steals and four rebounds while Lauren Ware also had a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

The Aggies (7-4, 0-2 SEC) played nearly perfect ball through the first 2:55 of the first quarter with Pryor scoring seven of the team's first nine points and Lauren Ware swatting three shots. A triple from Pryor forced a Georgia (15-1, 1-1 SEC) timeout as the Maroon & White began the contest on a 9-0 run. Texas A&M would maintain that lead and push it even further to a 20-8 count by the end of the quarter. The Aggies shot 50.0% from the field to the Lady Bulldogs' 23.5% and 0-of-7 from deep.

The second quarter was much of the same as the first 10 minutes with Texas A&M pushing its lead to 15 at the half, 37-22. The Aggie front court of Ware and Janneh combined for 24 of the team's points in the half with Janneh leading the way with 14 of her own. Pryor dominated the first 20 with nine points, five rebounds, four steals and two rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs came out swinging in the third quarter, cutting into the deficit and erasing six points off the Aggie lead by the end of the frame, 53-44. Janneh had four points and five boards during the third to secure her fifth-straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds heading into the final 10 minutes.

Texas A&M was held to just one point in the fourth quarter, and the Lady Bulldogs mounted a furious comeback that forced overtime at 54-54. Neither team scored in the final three minutes of action and both squads had three turnovers during that stretch.

UGA would prevail in the overtime period, 64-56, to win the tightly contested SEC contest.

Texas A&M continues its road trip with a bout at Florida Thursday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m.

Registered a season-high 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to secure her fifth-straight double-double and eighth-consecutive game with 10+ boards.

Ny'Ceara Pryor

Pryor registered five steals to eclipse to 400-steal mark for her career. She also dished out seven dimes and has 492 during her time in college.

Lauren Ware

Grabbed 11 rebounds, surpassing the 500-rebound plateau as an Aggie. She is the 34th player in program history to record 500+ rebounds in a career.
