BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's basketball team dropped a 91-51 decision to the No. 7 Vanderbilt Commodores in Sunday's SEC action inside Reed Arena.
Ny'Ceara Pryor paced the Aggies (8-5, 1-3 SEC) with 11 points, adding five assists and five rebounds. She now stands one point shy of becoming the sixth player in NCAA Division I history to record 2,000 points, 500 assists, and 400 steals in a career.
Lemyah Hylton notched 10 points on 4-of-8 (50.0%) shooting from the field to go with three assists. Emerald Parker chipped in with six points and a season-high seven rebounds.
The Aggies and Commodores played a tightly contested first quarter that saw Hylton and Salese Blow record five points apiece. Vanderbilt (17-0, 4-0 SEC) outscored A&M 9-5 to end the first quarter, taking an 18-14 advantage into the second frame.
Vanderbilt started the second quarter on fire going on a 12-2 run over a 3:14 period to take a commanding 30-18 lead with 6:07 left in the half. The Maroon & White were unable to get rhythm on offense as the Commodores extended their lead to 43-24 heading into the break.
Texas A&M could not draw closer than 20 points in the second half. The Maroon & White hit 40% (4-of-10) from 3-point range after the intermission. Pryor scored seven of her points in the second half.

POSTGAME QUOTES
Head Coach Joni Taylor on the bench bringing in a competitive edge…
"I thought Emerald was big for us in what she was able to do. I thought she competed. We talk about having competitive stamina, and I thought Lemyah and Emerald did that. Emerald is some who continues to get better every day and comes out every day with a better understanding of our offense and defense."
Senior Ny'Ceara Pryor on the physicality of Vanderbilt…
"They were more physical than us, so we have to be more physical. At the end of the day, that is a great team. They aren't number seven in the country for no reason. Their physicality in the end is what pushed us out of our game, and we must be able to get back into it."
Senior Lemyah Hylton on looking forward to Texas…
"We have a week to prepare for Texas and I'm not worried. I think it's going to be a great test for us to go up against another ranked opponent. We're just going to continue to grow, and I think that will show up later."
