Jan 09, 2026 | Men's Basketball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's basketball team aims to keep rolling in SEC play as it returns home to host Oklahoma Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
The Aggies moved to 2-0 in league action and 12-3 on the season with an exciting 90-88 win at Auburn Tuesday night. Texas A&M trailed by 16 early in the second half, but scored 11 points, capitalizing on three forced turnovers, in less than a minute, to spark their comeback and position themselves for the victory.
Pop Isaacs led the way for the Aggies at Auburn, putting together a 9-0 run of his own in the second half en route to his first 20-point performance of the year, as he finished with 21 points and five assists. Isaacs has scored in double-figures in each of the last four games and is averaging 15.0 points and 4.5 assists in that span.
Jacari Lane added a season-best 17 points against the Tigers, knocking down three 3's for the second time this season. Lane leads the team in assists with 48 on the year, while his 3.0 assist/turnover ratio ranks third in the league. As a team, the Aggies average 20.9 assists per game, which leads the SEC and ranks second nationally.
Texas A&M boasts the No. 6 scoring offense in the country, averaging 94.4 points per game, while its 11.5 3-pointers per game are good for sixth. Sharpshooter Rubén Dominguez sits atop the SEC with 53 made 3's on the year and a 3.5 per-game average from beyond the arc. On defense, the Aggies' 9.7 steals and 16.1 forced turnovers rank third and fourth among Power 4 teams, respectively.
The Sooners enter the weekend with an 11-4 record on the year and are 1-1 in SEC play after falling at Mississippi State, 72-53, earlier this week. Oklahoma holds a 31-13 lead in the all-time series, but the Aggies have been strong against the Sooners in recent meetings, claiming both matchups last year and the last four games in Aggieland. At Reed Arena a season ago, Texas A&M topped Oklahoma 75-68 after picking up a narrow 80-78 victory in Norman to start league play 2-0.
