
Zimmerman Improves School Record at Iowa Open

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M track & field's Henry Zimmerman broke the weight throw school record for the fifth time this season Friday at the Iowa Open.
Zimmerman extended his streak of breaking the weight throw school record to five-straight meets. He recorded a toss of 22.96m/75-4 on his sixth-and-final throw to improve his mark at the top of the program's standings. The New Albany, Ohio, native now holds the No. 2 spot in the SEC for the event this year and stands at No. 8 nationally.
The Aggies also had a standout day in in Fayetteville at the Arkansas Qualifier, headlined by the long jump tandem of Machaeda Linton and Morgan Davis. Linton secured her first win of the season in the event with a season-best leap of 6.51m/21-4.25, the mark also jumped her up from No. 10 to No. 4 on A&M's all-time performers list. Davis finished right behind with her best performance of the year, registering a leap of 6.46m/21-2.5 to climb up one spot to No. 5 in the Aggie record books. Linton added another podium finish to her day after taking second in the triple jump after logging a mark of 12.89m/42-3.5.
Lily Carlson rounded out the results with a third-place finish in the women's pole vault with a clearance of 4.15m/13-7.25.

The Aggies conclude their regular-season slate tomorrow at the Alex Wilson Invitational with a pair of distance medley relays.
