
No. 22 Baseball Drops Series Finale to No. 9 Oklahoma, 12-11

NORMAN – No. 22 Texas A&M fell in a seesaw battle in the series finale to No. 9 Oklahoma, 12-11, Sunday afternoon from Kimrey Family Stadium.
The Aggies (16-3) spotted four runs in the third inning after going down 6-0 early. With two runners on, Terrence Kiel II put the Maroon & White on the board with an infield single. Caden Sorrell plated another run with a single to left field. After Gavin Grahovac walked to load the bases, Jake Duer drove a line drive to left-center to bring home two runs and make it a 6-4 ballgame.
The Sooners (17-3) responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to double their lead to four. In the fourth inning, Sorrell drove in another run on a single up the middle. Boston Kellner put the Aggies within two runs in the fifth inning with a sharp RBI single to center field.
After going down 11-7 in the top of the eighth inning, Sorrell plated his third RBI of the contest with a double down the right field line. With the bases loaded and two outs, Duer lined a double down the left field line to clear the bases and tie the game at 11.
In the bottom of the eighth, Oklahoma plated the go-ahead run with a bases loaded walk.
Aiden Sims made the start for Texas A&M, allowing eight runs, six earned, on seven hits in 2.2 innings pitched. Gavin Lyons was effective out of relief, allowing one run in 3.0 innings and striking out five. Hunter Vincent, Juan Vargas and Grant Cunningham each made appearances out of the bullpen in the last two frames, combining for four strikeouts.
