NORMAN – No. 22 Texas A&M fell in a seesaw battle in the series finale to No. 9 Oklahoma, 12-11, Sunday afternoon from Kimrey Family Stadium.

The Aggies (16-3) spotted four runs in the third inning after going down 6-0 early. With two runners on, Terrence Kiel II put the Maroon & White on the board with an infield single. Caden Sorrell plated another run with a single to left field. After Gavin Grahovac walked to load the bases, Jake Duer drove a line drive to left-center to bring home two runs and make it a 6-4 ballgame.

The Sooners (17-3) responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to double their lead to four. In the fourth inning, Sorrell drove in another run on a single up the middle. Boston Kellner put the Aggies within two runs in the fifth inning with a sharp RBI single to center field.

After going down 11-7 in the top of the eighth inning, Sorrell plated his third RBI of the contest with a double down the right field line. With the bases loaded and two outs, Duer lined a double down the left field line to clear the bases and tie the game at 11.

In the bottom of the eighth, Oklahoma plated the go-ahead run with a bases loaded walk.

Aiden Sims made the start for Texas A&M, allowing eight runs, six earned, on seven hits in 2.2 innings pitched. Gavin Lyons was effective out of relief, allowing one run in 3.0 innings and striking out five. Hunter Vincent, Juan Vargas and Grant Cunningham each made appearances out of the bullpen in the last two frames, combining for four strikeouts.

B1 | Trey Gambill reached on a leadoff walk and moved to third on a single by Camden Johnson. The Sooners plated the first run of the contest on an errant throw on a pickoff attempt from Sims. Brendan Brock flied out to deep right field, advancing Johnson to third. Jaxon Willits drove in a run with a single up the middle. A&M 0, Oklahoma 2.

B2 | Dayton Tockey drew a walk and Kyle Branch singled through the left side. Jason Walk advanced both runners on a sacrifice bunt. Gambill plated a run on a groundout to second base and Johnson brought a run home on a single to center field. Brock reached on an infield single and Johnson advanced to third on a throwing error by Kellner. Willits knocked a wind-aided double to right field to tack on two more runs. A&M 0, Oklahoma, 6.

T3 | Bear Harrison doubled to start the inning, followed by a Kellner single to right field. Kiel reached on an infield single that plated Harrison. Sorrell singled to left field that brought Kellner home and advanced Kiel to second. Wesley Jordan reached on a fielder's choice that moved Kiel to third but forced Sorrell out at second. Grahovac walked to load the bases, and Duer plated two runs on a sharp single to left-center field. A&M 4, Oklahoma 6.

B3 | Tockey walked and Gambill drilled a home run to right field. A&M 4, Oklahoma 8.

T4 | Harrison was hit by a pitch but was out on a force at second base off the bat of Kiel. Hacopian reached on a fielding error by the Sooners' third baseman. Sorrell singled through the middle to plate Kiel. A&M 5, Oklahoma 8.

T5 | Grahovac reached on a single just past first base and advanced to second on a wild pitch. After Harrison was hit by a pitch, Kellner singled to center field to plate Grahovac. A&M 6, Oklahoma 8.

B6 | Brock singled to right-center field and stole second base. Willits grounded out to the shortstop to move Brock to third. Deiten LaChance plated the run on a sacrifice fly to right field. A&M 6, Oklahoma 9.

T7 | Grahovac drove a double down the left field line, advanced to third on a Nico Partida groundout, and scored on a wild pitch. A&M 7, Oklahoma 9.

B7 | Branch drew a walk with one out. Walk reached on a bunt single, followed by a hit by pitch from Gambill to load the bases. The Sooners plated their first run of the inning on an RBI hit by pitch from Johnson. Willits walked with the bases loaded to bring home another run. A&M 7, Oklahoma 11.

T8 | Kellner led off with a walk followed by a hit by pitch from Kiel. Hacopian reached on a fielder's choice that forced Kiel out at second. Sorrell drove a double that hugged the right field line to plate a run. Grahovac was hit by a pitch to load the bases, and Duer cleared the bases with a double to even the score. A&M 11, Oklahoma 11.

B8 | Connor Larkin singled through the right side, followed by a Dasan Harris walk. Gambill knocked an infield single to load the bases. The Sooners plated the go-ahead run on a walk from Johnson. A&M 11, Oklahoma 12.

Sunday's finale marked the 71st meeting all-time between the clubs. Following the loss, Texas A&M trails the series 36-35.
