Apr 12, 2026 | Softball
OXFORD – The No. 13 Texas A&M softball team completed a three-game sweep of Ole Miss with a 10-9 win in Sunday's series finale at Ole Miss Softball Stadium.
Texas A&M (30-12, 11-4 SEC) capitalized by reaching the leadoff runner in all but one inning and went 9-for-20 (.450) with runners on base. KK Dement powered the offense with two home runs and a career-high six RBI, while Micaela Wark added a homer and three RBI. Kennedy Powell, Mya Perez and Ariel Kowalewski joined Dement and Wark with multi-hit performances.
Sydney Lessentine (12-3) earned the win, striking out three over 2.1 innings of relief. Sidne Peters recorded her fourth save, allowing one run over the final 2.0 innings.
The Aggies threatened early when Kowalewski led off the second with a double and later scored on Maddie Sauni's pinch-hit RBI single up the middle for a 1-0 lead. A&M loaded the bases, but Ole Miss escaped the inning with a strikeout and fly out.
Ole Miss (26-18, 2-13 SEC) answered in the bottom half with a solo home run to tie the game.
Dement took advantage of windy conditions in the third, launching her second grand slam of the season to push the Aggies ahead, 5-1. Perez led off with a single, followed by a walk to Wark and a single from Kowalewski before Dement cleared the bases.
After a scoreless fourth, Dement struck again with a two-run homer to extend the lead to 7-1.
The Rebels responded with five runs on four hits in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run homer, to cut the deficit to 7-6.
A&M answered in the sixth as Wark hit her team-leading 18th home run, a three-run shot to make it 10-6.
Ole Miss trimmed the margin to two after loading the bases and scoring on a sacrifice fly and a wild pitch before a swinging strikeout ended the threat.
The Aggies drew a leadoff walk in the seventh and advanced a runner into scoring position, but Ole Miss recorded consecutive fly outs to end the inning.
Down to its final three outs, Ole Miss put immediate pressure on with a single and a wild pitch to move a runner into scoring position before another single to have Rebels on the corners. After an infield popup, the Rebels cut it to one with an RBI single before Peters secured the win with consecutive strikeouts.
