Aggies Fall to South Carolina in the NCEA National Championship Final

OCALA, Fla. – The No. 2 seed Texas A&M equestrian team fell to No. 4 seed South Carolina in the NCEA National Championship Final with a raw score decision, 1696.08-1473.00, after a 10-10 tie Saturday at the World Equestrian Center.
The Aggies (9-6) got on the board in Reining behind Moriah McQueen's ride of 71.2 on Ben. In Horsemanship, the Maroon & White picked up a pair of points with scoring rides from Meagan Braun (77.2) and Kendall Dirksen (75.5) cutting the deficit to 7-3 heading into the break.
Texas A&M came out strong in the second half, claiming three points in Flat with winning rides from Kate Egan (88.3), Grace Shipman (82) and Devan Thomas (85.3).
The Aggies continued their momentum into Fences, going 4-1 to even the overall score at 10-10 and force a raw score tiebreaker. Egan led the way with a 90.3 on Presley to earn MOP honors for the tournament. Alexa Leong (86.7), Shipman (86.7) and Alida Treuting (88) also secured points in the event. The national championship title was decided by cumulative raw score, where South Carolina edged out the Maroon & White, 1696.08-1473.00.
