
No. 2 Texas A&M Opens Road Swing at No. 7 Oklahoma

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team hits the road for a two-match weekend, opening at No. 7 Oklahoma Thursday with first serve set for 5 p.m. at the Headington Family Tennis Center, before traveling to face Arkansas Saturday at noon at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
The Aggies enter the weekend with a chance to secure at least a share of their fifth consecutive SEC regular-season title, needing one win across two matches.
Texas A&M features a stacked lineup with five ranked singles players, led by No. 1 Lucciana Perez, who is undefeated on the season with 20 wins and a 31-match winning streak in regular season matches. The Maroon & White also boast No. 35 Mia Kupres, No. 56 Ilinca Amariei, No. 85 Daria Smetannikov and No. 103 Lexington Reed. In doubles the Aggies are led by the No. 14 duo of Perez/Kupres, alongside No. 47 Amariei/Violeta Martinez and No. 60 Perez/Amariei.
Oklahoma brings a 21-4 record into Thursday's matchup and an 11-2 mark in conference action, riding an 11-match win streak following a 4-0 sweep of Missouri. The Sooners feature three ranked singles players, highlighted by No. 10 Evialina Laskevich, along with No. 54 Edda Mamedova and No. 64 Julia Garcia Ruiz.
In doubles, Oklahoma is anchored by the nation's top-ranked pair of Roisin Gilheany/Gloriana Nahum, in addition to the No. 15 duo of Laskevich/Mamedova. Texas A&M leads the all-time series 27-6, including a 4-2 win earlier this season at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Champaign.
Arkansas awaits the Aggies on Saturday, led by No. 34 Carolina Gomez Alonso in singles play and the No. 23 doubles pair of Anet Koskel/Gomez Alonso. Texas A&M holds a 19-8 advantage in the all-time series, including a 7-0 victory in the most recent meeting in 2025.
