SENIOR (2016-17): Named a NCEA Reining All-American Honorable Mention … Voted to the SEC All-Reining Team … Finished the season at 11-7 in Reining … Tallied one MOP against South Dakota State … Earned two victories at the NCEA Championship against OSU and TCU … Notched a win against South Carolina at the SEC Championship with a postseason-high score of 71.5 … Scored a regular season high of 74 against South Carolina … Named to the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.
JUNIOR (2015-16): Compiled a 10-4-2 record in Reining … Won all three points at the NCEA Championships with an average score of 141 … Scored a season-high 73 twice (at Fresno State; vs. Auburn).
SOPHOMORE (2014-15): Earned six victories in 13 starts in 2014-15 … Brought home the second MOP honor of her career after a 71.5-69 victory over her opponent from South Dakota State … Notched three consecutive wins over ranked opponents (Baylor 71-69.5, South Carolina 71-65.5, Georgia 68-59.5) … Averaged a 69.65.
FRESHMAN (2013-2014): Competed in eight rides her debut season…Began her career with the Aggies as an American Junior Paint Horse Association (AjPHA) World Champion after taking honors at the AjPHA World Show in Fort Worth in the summer…Helped secure an Aggie win with the team’s second highest ranked score of 75.5 against top-10 ranked SMU…Obtained the first MOP award of her career against No. 3 Auburn…Also ranks fourth on the team’s high scores list after a tight match against NO.6 Georgia…earned the first conference honor of her career as a SEC All-Freshman Team honoree.
Previous Athletic Experience
Competed on the Equestrian Team, as well as the Stock Horse Team…After winning the Regional Championship in Reining, she finished 7th in the national Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Semifinals in Pomona, California, on March 23.
PERSONAL
Sarah Kate Grider is the daughter of Walter & Susie Grider… born April 1, 1994… has one brother, Jace Jenkins… 2012 high school graduate… Surrounded by Aggies, both parents (Walter ’76, Susie ’78) and uncle Gus Grider and cousin Hilary ’01… majoring in Ag Communications and Journalism with sights set on writing for a magazine in the horse industry… participated in sports and FFA & 4-H in high school… major awards include World Champion at the AJPHA Youth Working Cow Horse 18&Under, Texas State 4-H Champion – 3 Year Old Futurity, and Reserve Champion Working Cow Horse.
