2016 - SOPHOMORE: Played in 14 matches, including 11 starts... racked up 999 minutes of play... helped the Aggies rack up seven shutouts.
2015 - FRESHMAN: Played in 13 matches with 5 starts... logged 1 assist on the year... uncorked five shots, including three shots-on-goal... notched her first career assist against Alabama (10/9)... started the last five games of the postseason.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Four-year varsity letterwinner on Mater Dei High School soccer team... led Mater Dei to deep runs at the California Interscholastic Federation playoff each of her first three seasons, including quarterfinal showings in 2011 and 2013 and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2012... two-time All-Trinity League selection... named a “Player to Watch” by the Orange County Register’s OCVarsity.com... Played club soccer for Slammers FC led by Coach Whalid Khoury... led Slammers FC to a title at the Nike Invitational Copa Real in 2011, a runner-up finish at the 2012 Surf Cup and semi-finalist showings at the 2011 National Cup and 2012 Slammers Cup... helped Slammers FC earn No. 1 national ranking in 2013... earned spot in Elite Clubs National League Playoffs in 2013 and 14 and advanced to ECNL National Championship final in 2013... volunteered at the Mater Dei High School Summer Soccer Camp and Slammers FC Summer Soccer Camp, Mary’s Kitchen, St. Norberts Parish Festival, KidWorks and City of Hope.
PERSONAL: Margaret Anne Schmidt was born July 19, 1997 to parents Joseph and Debra Schmidt... youngest of three siblings... oldest sister, Catherine, ran track at Notre Dame... other sister, Mary Grace, also played soccer at Texas A&M (2009-11) and served as a volunteer coach for the Aggies (2013-14)... brother, Joseph, played football at Notre Dame, being named captain and MVP of the 2014 squad... in her leisure time she enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach, water-sports, boating, wake-boarding, reading a good book, and listening to music... graduated with a bachelor's degree in history and international affairs in May 2020.
