Chirico and Williams Fall In Semifinals at Midland Invitational

The Texas A&M men?™s tennis team closed out play at the Midland Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational with sophomores Chris Chirico (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Brad Williams (Cape Town, South Africa) advancing all the way to the semifinals in singles and doubles Saturday.
In quarterfinal action, Chirico used a straight-set victory to get past fellow teammate Jerry Makowski (Bradenton, Fla.), 6-3, 6-3, before falling to Texas Tech?™s Ilya Babinciuc, 6-1, 6-2, in the semifinals.
Williams and doubles partner Tyler Tarnasky of Arkansas defeated David Galic and Attila Bucko of Baylor, 8-6, en route to a spot in the semifinals where they lost to Blake Strode and Colin Mascall of Arkansas, 8-4.
The Aggies continue fall tournament play next weekend at the ITA Regionals on Oct. 20-23 in Austin, Texas.
