Pollock Bows Out In Round Of 32 at ITA All-American

Up against a tough 64-player tournament field comprised of the nation?™s best in college tennis, Texas A&M?™s Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) was eliminated in the singles main draw of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championship held Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Pollock, ranked No. 37 nationally in the preseason ITA/FILA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, began the day with a three-set upset of No. 24-ranked Marek Sramek of South Alabama, 6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-3. He eventually lost to eighth-ranked Andre Begemann of Pepperdine, 7-5, 6-3, in the round of 32. Senior All-American Jerry Makowski (Bradenton, Fla.), ranked No. 34 nationally, was also pitted against tough competition and suffered a 6-4, 6-3 opening-round loss to No. 28-ranked Andreas Weber of Hawai?™i.
The Aggies will continue fall tournament play at the Midland Invitational on Oct. 12-14 in Midland, Texas.
