Pollock Eliminated In Round of 16 at ITA National Indoors

Texas A&M?™s Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) lost a close three-set match in the round of 16 at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships held Friday at The Racquet Club of Columbus.
Pollock, ranked No. 37 nationally in the preseason ITA/FILA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, rebounded from a 6-3 first-set deficit by winning the second-set tiebreaker, 7-1. His opponent, No. 94-ranked Dalibor Pavic of Drake, closed out the third set, 6-1, to earn a spot in the quarterfinals.
Both Pollock and Pavic reached the round of 16 after defeating two of the nation?™s top players in the 32-player singles draw. Pollock upset second-ranked Steven Moneke of Ohio State, while Pavic topped fifth-ranked Luke Shields of Boise State. The ITA National Indoors is college tennis?™ premier fall tournament and features the best of the best in college tennis annually.
