Aggies Set for 2015 USTA/ITA Texas Regional

HOUSTON, Texas – Texas A&M men's tennis looks fend off weather issues and take on the field at the 2015 USTA/ITA Texas Regional beginning Saturday and lasting until Monday. The regional is hosted in Houston, Texas by Rice at the recently renovated George R. Brown Tennis Center.
Saturday's first round will see four Aggies in action. Freshman Kevin Lam will take on Cole Lawson of Abilene Christian, freshman Sam Giammalva faces Adrian Ortiz of Texas, junior James Martell will play Julio Olaya of SMU and junior Frankie Colunga will oppose Sebastian Langdon of Abilene Christian.
The Aggies entered the regional with a trio of players receiving top-5 seeds; No. 3 Shane Vinsant, No. 4 Arthur Rinderknech and No. 5 AJ Catanzariti. Each of the top-5 seeded Aggies will await a second round opponent. Freshman Oscar Janglin will take on Trey Crysel of Lamar and Junior Max Lunkin will face Michael Feucht of Lamar. Sophomore Jordi Arconada begins play in the second round and will face the winner of Carlos Arbiza of Texas-Arlington and Hunter Holman of Abilene Christian.
Of the Aggies five doubles teams, just Arconada and Martell will begin play in the first round. The A&M pair will take on Brad Gleason and Sebastian Langdon of Abilene Christian.
In second round action Janglin/Lam will take on Nico Agritelley/Joshua Sheehy of Abilene Christian and Giammalva/Colunga, Texas A&M face Jimmy Bendeck & Will Little, Baylor. No. 8 seeded AJ Catanzariti and Max Lunkin along with 5th-seeded Shane Vinsant and Arthur Rinderknech await their second round opponents.
