For the third straight season, No. 15 Texas A&M takes on No. 18 DePaul in women's basketball, as the Blue Demons pay their first visit to Reed Arena on Saturday, December 12 at 2 p.m. Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair will also be honored before the game for his 700th career win, attained on Nov. 27 in Las Vegas.
The game is broadcast on SEC Network, with Roy Philpott and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame coach Gail Goestenkors on the call, and Steffi Sorensen reporting from the sidelines. Fans can also access the broadcast on WatchESPN on their computers, smartphones and tablets.
Listeners in the Bryan-College Station area can tune into The Zone 1150 AM / 102.7 FM for Gabe Bock and Tap Bentz's broadcast. Fans can listen to the radio broadcast worldwide at 12thMan.com/showcase or on the Radio Aggieland app.
The Aggies defeated DePaul in the 2014 Sweet 16 in Lincoln, Neb., 84-65, then opened the 2014-15 season with a 76-68 win over the Blue Demons in Chicago. In each game, Courtney Walker scored exactly 25 points to lead the Aggies.
Only four times in the past three seasons has DePaul been held under 70 points and lost, and two of those instances have come against Texas A&M. No. 2 Connecticut and No. 2 Notre Dame are the only other teams to beat DePaul and hold the Blue Demons under 70 points since the start of the 2013-14 season.
The Blue Demons, who have four of the last six programs to make a national title game on the schedule, are coming off of a 95-90 loss at No. 3 Notre Dame. DePaul's only losses this season have come to AP Top 5 teams, at No. 5 Baylor, No. 1 Connecticut and at No. 3 Notre Dame.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair is to be honored prior to the game for his 700th career win, which came in a 75-58 win over No. 16 Cal on Nov. 27 in Las Vegas, Nev.
After this game, the Aggies take on No. 17 Oklahoma in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Dec. 20 in Oklahoma City. That game is broadcast on Fox Sports 1. A&M returns to Reed Arena on Dec. 22 to host Little Rock at 12 p.m.
