No. 12 Women Beat Hawai'i In Laie 82-41

LAIE, Hawai'i- The No. 12 Texas A&M women's basketball team cruised to a 82-41 victory over Hawai'i at the Tom Weston Invitational at the George Q. Cannon Activities Center on the BYU-Hawai'i campus.
The Aggies improved to 6-1, starting with at least six wins in their first seven games for the ninth time in the past 12 years.
A&M (6-1) jumped out to a 39-15 halftime lead over the Rainbow Wahine (4-5), fueled by a 22-2 run that started in the first period and stretched into the second period. A&M's attacked was fueled by pressure defense that led A&M to a 37-4 advantage on points off turnovers.
Four Aggies reached double figures, including Courtney Walker (10), who moved into fifth on A&M's career scoring list, passing Donna Roper (1985-89). She was joined in double figures by co-leading scorers Courtney Williams and Khaalia Hillsman, who each had 12. Rachel Mitchell added a season-high 10 points as well.
The Aggies held Hawai'i to 0 of 13 shooting on 3-pointers. Texas A&M's bench outscored the Rainbow Wahine bench 36 to 4.
The Aggies return to action at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, December 5 to close out the Tom Weston Invitational in Laie, Hawai'i by facing BYU. The Aggies return home on Monday, December 7 at 11 a.m. to host SMU in Elementary School Day.
