The Aggies have won three straight games entering this tournament, and are coming off an 81-58 victory against Southern in Houston's Campbell Center, as five Aggies scored in double figures and three posted double-doubles. Anriel Howard posted her seventh double-double in that game, which ranks fourth in the nation.
Dayton is 3-6 on the season, but has played a schedule that included games against now-No. 1 Connecticut, Georgia Tech, and wins against Wisconsin and Princeton. The Flyers reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in 2015.
Syracuse, who was NCAA Runner-Up in 2016, is 8-3 this season. Alexis Peterson leads the Orange, and the ACC, with 21.5 points per game. The Orange have won four in a row, including a win over Michigan State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
After this tournament, the Aggies are off until Dec. 28, where the Aggies host Prairie View A&M at 1 p.m. inside Reed Arena.
