Feb 25, 2016 | Softball
COLLEGE STATION – The No. 14 Texas A&M softball team hosts Indiana, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UTEP for the Texas A&M Invitational Friday through Sunday at the Aggie Softball Complex.
The tournament will get underway Friday at 10 a.m. CT with UTEP vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, while the Aggies will face Indiana at 3 p.m. CT and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 5:15 p.m. CT.
"I am excited to be home this weekend," head coach Jo Evans said. "It is fun to be at home and play five games. Hopefully we can continue our roll. We have done a good job of staying consistent and winning games. We don't want any hiccups. We want to go out there and get the pitching we need and to continue to shore up our defense."
A&M (12-1) is led offensively by junior April Ryan, who leads the team in batting average at .476. Senior Cali Lanphear along with sophomores Kristen Cuyos and Tori Vidales pace the Aggies with four home runs while Lanphear and Vidales lead the team with 14 RBI.
In the circle, freshman Samantha Show leads the nation in wins at eight and is second in the SEC in strikeouts with 53. Sophomore Trinity Harrington is 3-0 with a 0.40 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 17.1 innings.
Live streaming of every Aggie game this weekend can be seen live on the SEC Network +, available through WatchESPN and the ESPN app and can be heard locally on KWBC 1550 AM.
