No. 10 Texas A&M sweeps Texas Tech with 17-3 win

"I am really pleased to see us separate ourselves in the third game," head coach Jo Evans said. "It is not easy to beat anybody three games in a row. Our kids really came out to play today. I thought our pitchers did a really nice job, and our hitters especially. Lately, we would score some runs and then have a lull, but we didn't have that today. It is really nice to see our kids get after it and put pressure on the opposing pitchers."
Texas Tech jumped out to an early 1-0 before A&M responded with seven in the bottom of the first. Freshman Keeli Milligan began the inning with a single and scored on freshman Kaitlyn Alderink's 10th double of the season. Sophomore Tori Vidales and seniors Cali Lanphear and Breanna Dozier drew three consecutive walks before sophomore Kristen Cuyos hit a SAC fly to score Vidales. Sophomore Ashley Walters walked to bring in Lanphear, before freshman Riley Sartain recorded a two-RBI single. Milligan then singled to center, plating Walters and Sartain to cap off the inning.
The Red Raiders got two runs back on a Brittany Warnecke home run in the top of the second, but the Aggies countered with six runs in the bottom half. Lanphear singled to right to lead off the inning before A&M hit back-to-back home runs from Dozier and Cuyos. Milligan reached on an error, allowing Walters to score before Vidales drove in Sartain on an RBI single to left.
With the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the fourth, Lanphear hit her second grand slam of the season and sixth home run of the year to left center. Senior Katie Marks moved to 6-0 on the year with 3.1 innings of relief, giving up only one hit with a strikeout.
The Aggies return to action Tuesday with a doubleheader against Georgia Southern. Game one is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. CT and game two is slated for 4 p.m. CT.
