The Aggies opened the tournament with a 74-65 win over No. 13 seed Missouri State, a game in which A&M led by as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter. Freshman Anriel Howard made NCAA Tournament history in that game, as she had a tournament-record 27 rebounds, shattering the previous mark of 23. Courtney Walker was the Aggies' leading scorer in the game, scoring 29 points, the second-most by an Aggie in an NCAA Tournament game.
Florida State is making their 15th NCAA Tournament appearance, defeating No. 12 seed Middle Tennessee 72-55 to reach the Second Round. The Seminoles used an 11-4 run late in the third quarter to pull away from the Blue Raiders. Four Florida State players scored in double figures, led by Leticia Romero's 17.
The winner of this game advances to the Dallas Regional, where they will take on either Baylor or Auburn on Saturday, March 26.
