
No. 25 Women's Golf Looks To Repeat At SEC Championships Fri.-Sun.

HOOVER, Ala.- No. 25 Texas A&M heads to the 2016 SEC Women's Golf Championship on April 15-17, looking to defend its SEC Title from 2015. The Aggies' lineup features 2015 SEC Individual Champion Bianca Fabrizio and 2015 SEC Individual Runner-Up Maddie Szeryk.
A&M heads back to the Greystone Golf & Country Club's Legacy Course where A&M shot an SEC Tournament-record 13-under par to win the 2015 title by 12 strokes, marking the Aggies' sixth conference title and first since joining the SEC. Fabrizio shot a 207 (-9), which also marked a tournament record. Szeryk was second at 209 (-7).
The Aggies are one of six Top 25 ranked teams to take to the par 72/6,195 yard course for the three-day, 54-hole tournament. In addition to the 25th-ranked Aggies, No. 1 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, No. 7 Florida, No. 8 Arkansas, and No. 23 South Carolina enter the 14-team competition ranked.
A&M ranks 18th in the nation in scoring average, and enters the SEC Championship with three Top 3 finishes and a tournament win this season. The Aggies also boast two individual event winners this year in Szeryk and Thanya Pattamakijsakul.
A&M's lineup features Szeryk, Pattamakijsakul, Fabrizio, Andrea Jonama and Callie Scheffler, as four of the five competitors from last season's SEC Championship team return again to the same course. The Aggies tee off at 8:50 a.m. on Hole No. 1. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
The SEC Championships conclude the regular season for the Aggies. Texas A&M hosts the 2016 NCAA Bryan Regional at Traditions Club on May 5-7. Should the Aggies make their 16th consecutive regional, A&M will play in the Bryan Regional.
